Summer Fun

Kaira and I packed up with Gayle, Lokei and Jamari and made a trip to the beach.  The kids had a blast swimming, playing in the sand, looking for hermit crabs, and building sand castles.

The beach was surprisingly quiet and empty.

This was our own private little piece of paradise for the better part of the day.

*4th of July*

We celebrated 4th of July with a BBQ and fireworks at a friend's house.  While it was still daylight, the kids had lots of fun with some little ground fireworks, poppers, and sparklers.  Then after dark, the grown-ups fired off the big sky fireworks while the kiddos watched.  I didn't get any pictures of the big ones after dark (was busy setting them up and shooting them off!).  

These were a big hit - light them and run... then they spin and shoot up in the air while sparkling and making whizzing noises!  

Another big hit... lots of noise and lights.
